Home > Jacob wins Silver in 200 Fly
SCSSC came out shining after the second weekend of the Yorkshire Championships held at Ponds Forge. The star of the show was Jacob Trueman-Marsden who came second in the Boys 9 yrs 200m Fly on Saturday in a time 0f 3:50:93. Also swimming for SCSC on Saturday was Saskia Payne, who did a double with the 400 Free in the morning followed by the 100 Back in the afternoon. Saskia swam 5:14:76 placing her 20th in the Girls 12 yr age group and swam 1:22:17 in the 100 Back, placing 28th. Kate Field, who also swam Saturday, finished in a time of 3:12:40 in the Girls 11 yrs 200 IM. Kate placed 41st.
Sunday’s results saw Alex Crane reach the finals of the Boys 14yrs 100m Breast, finishing 9th in a time of 1:21:43. Dan Field made 2nd reserve finalist in the Boys 13 yrs 200m Breast, in a time of 3:03:82. Rounding out the Sunday morning session was Olivia Beavers, who came 28th in the Girls 12yrs 100m Free in a time of 1:10:46.
For the afternoon, Saskia Payne was at it again, this time in the 800m Free, placing 19th in a time of 10:51:73. Charlotte Beaumont completed the day’s competitors swimming an impressive 2:54:32 in the Girls 9yrs 200 Free placing 6th.
Well, done to all swimmers and to Jacob, Charlotte, Alex and Dan for being finalists and reserves in their respective categories. For a club our size, it was great to see these results. We are very proud of the efforts our kids put in. Good lick to those swimming next week in Leeds.
