The Swimmer of the Year is awarded in memory of Margaret Randall, the late wife of previous Club Chairman Ken Randall, who volunteered tirelessly for the Club for many years.

Winner - 2008



The winner of the 2008 Swimmer of the Year was Matthew Olivo. Highlights for Matthew included:

  • One second place, one fourth place, one fifth place and three eigth place finishes at ASANER.
  • One second place (50 Free) and one sixth place (100 IM) finish at Winter Yorkshires.
  • Three firsts at Barnsley Minor League Individual Championships.
  • One first and two fourths at the COSS Teaspoon Gala.
  • One first and one second place finish at the Sept. Rotherham A/B.
  • Three firsts and one second at the Scarborough A/B.
  • Two firsts, two seconds, one third and awarded Top Boy at the Eckington Sprints.
  • Eigth in the 400 Free at the Spring Yorkshires.
  • One first, two seconds and one third at the Sheffield & Districts.

Winner - 2007

The winner of the 2007 Swimmer of the Year was Fern Brookes.  Highlights for Fern included:

  • Qualifying and representing Sheffield City in all four Yorkshire and North East Championships.
  • Five top three finishes in Sheffield & District Championships.
  • One first and one second place finish at Scarborough Open Meet.
  • Fourth place in 400m Freestyle at the Youth Friendship Games in Holland.

Winner - 2006

The winner of the 2006 Swimmer of the Year was Heather Hall.  Highlights for Heather included:

  • made finals in both the Yorkshire and North East Championships, 
  • made all four finals in the Stocksbridge Sprints Meet,
  • three first places in the Tulip Open Meet,
  • won the both the IM and Free 'Skinz' events at the Hull B Grade Meet,
  • three first 'A' grade place at Rotherham Meet.
