Welcome to Sheffield City Swimming Club.

We are Sheffield’s oldest competitive swimming club formed back in 1962.

Our members range from 8 years of age to masters swimmers and number around 150.

The club is run by 10 committee members with a host of other volunteers.

The club is split into 4 squads A, B & C and Youth & Masters squads, each having its own coach and train primarily at Heeley baths but we also use Ponds Forge, Graves and Spring’s swimming pools.

We promote friendship and teamspirit and swim "one for all and all for one"

The club is affiliated with the Amateur Swimming Association and was awarded Swim 21 and Sport England Club Mark status in 2003, which was revalidated most recently in 2011.

We hold two annual galas:

Summer Sprints Open Gala

24th August 2013

SCSC B Grade Open Meet

16th November 2013

SCSC B Grade Meet 17 November 2012 - Thank You

Many thanks to everybody who helped organise and run our gala yesterday.

I know I've said it before but without the help of all the Officials and Volunteers (and their families) from our club and other swimming clubs we would not have had such a fantastic and successful gala.

Congratulations to  all swimmers including those getting Trophies, speeding tickets and PBs.

Finally, many thanks to all the clubs, swimmers and their supporters who attended.

Hope to see you all at our next licensed swimming galas:

-our level 3 licensed Sprints Meet on on Saturday 24 August 2013
-our level 3 licensed B grade meet on Saturday 16 November 2013

Details will be posted next year on our web site under the SCSC Meets tab

BREAKING NEWS: SCSC's Andrew Gould breaks two British records at Rotherham A/B grade meet at Ponds Forge

Iron Man Andy posted 13th April, 2012

Andy Gould Birmingham 2012

Andrew Gould swam in the City of Birmingham Open over the Easter weekend and had his most successful meet ever. Competing in a staggering 21 swims, 10 heats, 10 finals and 1 HDW over 3 days Andy scooped 5 golds, 1 silver, 3 bronze and 2 finalist medals.

He also recorded 7 PBs, despite swimming the final races straight after each other, knocking just over 15 seconds off his 400 Free and 10 seconds off his 200 Free. Andy also took half a second off his 200 Back time and is awaiting ratification of a new British Record in the S10 category.

To round off the weekend he was awarded the Les Hayes Trophy for the best performance by a disability swimmer and the Andy Jackson Trophy for Iron Man of the Meet for most swims. His tally of 54points from a possible 66 secured the Top Boy award for the 13+ age group and placed Sheffield City 13th of 52 on the Top Club leader board.

Well done Andy.
